Quality you can see, taste and verify.
Makhana is a natural product, and quality varies from pond to pond and harvest to harvest. Our job is to remove that variability before it reaches you.

The home of Mithila Makhana
The Mithila region of north Bihar produces most of the world's makhana, and "Mithila Makhana" holds a Geographical Indication (GI) tag. Seeds from its shallow ponds are known for their size, whiteness and crunch.
Harvesting is skilled work. Farmers dive to gather seeds from the pond bed, then roast and hand-pop them. Buying through FoxNut supports these communities and keeps that craft alive.
- GI-region sourcingOur lots come from Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnia and neighbouring districts.
- Chemical-free poppingTraditional roasting and popping, with no bleaching agents.
- Fair farmer partnershipsStable demand and fair, timely payments to grower groups.
